After delivering a painting in central London, I was treated to afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason – delicious!
Then I went to see Melita Denaro’s poetic paintings at John Martin Gallery. It is years since I saw her work and every one is a jewel. Fantastic work and well worth a visit.
The trip was completed by a visit to the fascinating exhibition “Dirt” at the Wellcome Collection. Some challenging and visceral exhibits (such as the glass phial containing stomach extracts from a cholera victim from 1854).Really amazing to find that bacteria were first discovered in Holland in the 17th century, a time of discovery of new worlds. Reassuring to know there have always been nerds looking into the details!
This is a brilliant place – free entry, great shows, nice cafe and bookshop, and a place to leave bags…..I will be coming here again!
